These sketches are from various sketchbooks between 2016 and 2020. They represent my thoughts and observations from that period, often capturing snippets of overheard conversations or meeting doodles. My work focuses on character design and technique exploration, ranging from pen and ink to impasto painting, markers, and collage. These pieces showcase a mix of media, reflecting my spontaneous creative process. I hope to share more collections like this in the future.
“Confía” (Trust) was a 2023 project featuring a series of posters displayed around the city, portraying a wolf in sheep’s clothing—a metaphor for politicians during Guatemala’s elections. The wolf, symbolizing deception, wore a pin with “HDP” (literally “hijo de puta” or son of a bitch), alluding to Alejandro Giammattei, who promised to be different but proved otherwise. The imagery included a bloodied sheep, reflecting the betrayal felt by the populace, and a presidential chain symbolizing the country’s entrapment in underdevelopment. This series of 100 pieces reminded me why I love this technique.

Creating artwork for “Despecho Palpecho” was a delight. This event, themed around sad music genres like reggaetón, ranchera, cumbia, and norteña, inspired a piece reflecting a typical Latin American weekend gathering. Picture uncles drinking in the yard at plastic tables, with a loyal dog by their side. This vibrant, nostalgic scene captures the essence of the event perfectly.

"Anti" presents a thought-provoking collection of visuals that embrace the concept of antithesis as a cornerstone of human experience. It underscores the philosophy that for every virtue to exist and be recognized, there must be an opposing element—beauty cannot exist without ugliness, goodness requires the presence of evil, and so forth. Through a series of striking visual metaphors and oxymorons, this collection not only explores but celebrates the complexity and necessity of these contrasting concepts within our lives.

Creating the cover for the single “Deatómico del Club” was a blast. Inspired by Green Day’s “Dookie,” we aimed for a quirky vibe, even featuring the band members in the illustration. It was a fun and unique project with a legendary Guatemalan band.

Creating “Fiebre” was exhilarating. It contrasts popular Kaiju monsters like King Kong and Godzilla in a Guatemalan setting. Imagine them battling at the Gran Jaguar in Tikal, instead of typical American cities. This piece reflects the blend of North American pop culture with our local scenery, offering a fresh perspective. The juxtaposition is striking and enjoyable, and I hope to create more similar pieces in the future.

Designing the cover for “The FutHRist” by Trent Cotton was a gratifying experience. Trent, a frequent collaborator and a remarkable individual, allowed me to experiment with my style to meet diverse needs. The human connection in our collaboration was particularly enriching. This project gave me the chance to explore various ways to represent the symbol “X,” which I usually draw on cheeks. Here, it took on a new form, reflecting my continuous journey of creative experimentation.

This is the gig poster and official tour shirts for “El Tobogán,” the latest material by @sloth_brite and @borjabuche 🛝👹. The project was a joy to work on, illustrating not only Cráneo and Vejo but also Fresco, Chevo, and Mez. Special thanks to @quantumlabel_ for commissioning the work. This complete project included posters, shirts, tickets, promos, and social media materials. The design was inspired by ceramics from the Spanish artist @gr170.

“Pictopia Utopia” was an incredible experience, painting a water tank 25 meters high during the graffiti festival organized by the Guatemalan Olympic Committee. It was an honor, given the hard-fought spaces for artistic expression. This piece, based on sustainable development goals and featuring characters inspired by Guatemala’s federated sports like basketball, weightlifting, racewalking, skateboarding, and soccer, was a memorable three-day challenge under the sun. I’m grateful to the organizers for their support in creating this significant mural.

Special thanks to the festival organizers!
