Help & Support
SlidePainter
Everything you need to get started and troubleshoot the add-on.
Getting Started
SlidePainter runs directly inside Google Slides. Here's how to get going:
1. Install SlidePainter from the Google Workspace Marketplace
2. Open any Google Slides presentation
3. Go to Extensions → SlidePainter → Start
4. Choose whether to replace colors or fonts
5. Select what to find, pick the replacement, and apply
Replacing Colors
SlidePainter scans your entire presentation and detects every color in use — across shapes, text, backgrounds, and borders. Select the color you want to change, pick the new one, and apply. Every instance updates in seconds.
You can use any hex code, so it works with any brand palette.
Replacing Fonts
The add-on lists every font found in your deck. Choose the font you want to replace, select the new one, and SlidePainter swaps every instance — titles, body text, captions — while preserving your layout, weight, and style.
All fonts available in Google Slides are supported, including custom fonts loaded into your account.
Troubleshooting
The add-on isn't loading
Try refreshing the page. If it persists, go to Extensions → Manage add-ons and verify SlidePainter is enabled. You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling from the Marketplace.
A color or font wasn't replaced
Some elements like embedded images or linked objects can't be modified by add-ons. SlidePainter works on all native Slides elements — text boxes, shapes, tables, and backgrounds.
The add-on is running slowly
Large presentations with many slides may take a few extra seconds to scan. This is normal. SlidePainter processes everything within Google's Apps Script environment.
I don't see SlidePainter in the Extensions menu
Make sure you've installed it from the Marketplace and that your Google Workspace admin hasn't restricted add-on installations.
